What is Facebook Conversions API?
Facebook Conversions API (CAPI) lets you send events (PageView, AddToCart, Purchase, etc.) directly from your server to Facebook Ads Manager.
Unlike browser-based tracking, CAPI is more reliable because it isn’t blocked by cookies, ad blockers, or iOS updates.
With NestAds 2.0, you can:
- Push events server-side to Facebook.
- Enable Advanced Matching for stronger user identification.
- Improve attribution accuracy and reduce “missing conversions.”
Who can use NestAds’ server-side tracking?
- For merchants who have never created a pixel before, NestAds can serve as the first solution to push data directly to their ad platforms.
- For merchants who previously pushed data using other solutions — such as the official Facebook–Shopify integration, third-party apps like Elevar, Triple Whale, Littledata, or other less reliable tools on the Shopify App Store — NestAds can replace those setups with a simpler, more accurate solution.
How To Set Up Facebook Conversion API (CAPI) with NestAds?
Step 1: Disconnect Old Integrations
Before setting up, remove:
- Shopify’s Facebook & Instagram integration app.
- Other 3rd-party tracking tools that support the same feature (e.g., Elevar, Triple Whale,..).
Removing them will help to deduplicate data push back to the platform.
Step 2: Add Facebook as a Destination
- From your NestAds dashboard, go to Pushback Data
- Click Add Destination.
- Choose a platform (Facebook Ads), then name the destination
- Fill in the remaining required information:
- Pixel ID/ Conversion ID (from Facebook Events Manager)
- Access Token. To generate an Access Token, go to Facebook’s Events Manager. Navigate to Settings and select Generate Access Token. It is recommended to choose the option “Set up with Dataset Quality API” and then copy the token.
- Pixel ID/ Conversion ID (from Facebook Events Manager)
- Click Save.
P.S. Your account must have permission to access the Assets and Pixels section.
Step 3: Enable Advanced Matching
- Go back to the Facebook Events Manager, then head to your Pixel Settings.
- Scroll to Advanced Matching.
- Toggle ON all the data matching like below
Step 4: Verify Events
- Open Facebook Business Manager → Settings → Datasets & Pixels .
- Select the Pixel that requires a double-check. → Events Manager
- Check if server-side events are received under your Pixel.
In general, you are doing well if your Event Match Quality (EMQ) scores on Facebook / Meta are:
- 6 – 7 for pre-checkout events
- 8 – 9 for checkout and purchase events
