In this post, you will learn how to add customer data in NestDesk. Let’s get started now!

How to add customer data 

First off, make sure you’ve already logged in NestDesk. If you don’t have NestDesk account, please create a new one here.

Add customer data during the conversation 

For new customers, you can add customer information and create a new contact while having a chat conversation with them. 

  1. Navigate to Inbox > Left click to open a conversation 
  2. On the right sidebar, you can add basic information about the customer

Don’t forget to click on the Create customer button to save all your setup.

Merging customer data 

There may be some situations where a customer uses two accounts to contact you at different times. To avoid duplicating the data and splitting the conversation, we suggest merging when it’s the same customer instead of setting a different profile in the ticket.

  1. Search customers by name in the search bar

  1. Click on Merge button

  1. Hit OK button in the confirmation popup 

This way all your customer data and order history will be present in the current chat conversation. 

Add customer data in your customer list 

  1. On the left sidebar, navigate to Customer then click on Add customer button

  1. Fill in basic information about the customer including name, email, phone number, address, etc

  1. Click on Save button 

Please note that when you add customer data in NestDesk, all setups will be updated in the corresponding customers in your Shopify store.
